Nicholas has over 13 years of experience in quality assurance, and since 2006, extensive commissioning project experience working with multiple University of California, California State University, and University of Nevada systems, community college districts, K-12 school districts, California and Nevada State Public Works, San Diego Public Works, Department of Defense, NAVFAC, Hospitals, Airport, OSHPD, medical office buildings, hotel/resorts, casinos, commercial office buildings, retail, and industrial manufacturing Client’s.

Nicholas’s specialties include new building commissioning, retro-commissioning, existing building commissioning, monitor-based commissioning, operations and maintenance owner training, TAB verification, air barrier testing, fire alarm testing, IBC 909 smoke control and life safety systems testing, and MEP coordination. His experience providing all phases of the commissioning process includes:

  • Performing commissioning design reviews meeting California Title 24 compliance, CALGREEN, and LEED certification requirements

  • Developing the commissioning plan, pre-functional and functional testing protocols

  • Managing project scoping, commissioning, and MEP coordination meetings

  • Observe contractor installation and TAB verification

  • Executing pre-functional and functional performance verification testing

  • Producing final commissioning reports and commissioned systems manuals

  • Reviewing operations and maintenance documentation and warranty information

  • Facilitating operations and maintenance training

  • Performing deferred seasonal performance testing and analysis

  • Troubleshooting and system performance review utilizing datalogging and building management system trending data

  • Assisting end-user with final warranty walk and contract closeout
